Coalition for International Criminal Justice calls for ICC special working group on ecocide

Summary

  • A Special Working Group was the mechanism by which the Crime of Aggression, originally absent from the Rome Statute, was defined before being adopted in 2010.

  • The statement was issued during the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) which took place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

  • The Stop Ecocide Foundation co-hosted an official side event at the ASP, co-hosted by Permanent Missions of the Republic of Vanuatu and Samoa to the United Nations.
